Job Duties:

  • Responsible for performing legal analysis, drafting memoranda, filing immigration petitions, and drafting legal documents, motions, briefs. Assist in preparing and drafting response to Request for Evidence issued by USCIS in Employment, Family, Investment and other immigration matters. Job duties, include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform legal analysis, draft memoranda, client petitions, court documents, briefs. Assist Terkiana, PC Attorney in employment based, family based, and other immigration matters. This includes but is not limited toH-1B, H-4, L-1A, L-1B, TN Visa, I-140, N-400, I-290B, etc.
  • Seek guidance on strategy and case management; coordinate work of legal research and cases; and prepare immigration petitions, responses of Request for Evidence, appeals and motions.
  • Work with the lead attorney in handling legal research; be responsible for the first draft of immigration litigation cases, motions, appeals, and complex court briefs; research, review and summarize applicable statutory, regulatory and case law, and conduct legal research on case law, using LexisNexis, as related to immigration litigation matters.
  • Prepare and draft Motion to Transfer venue, Motion to Consolidate, Motion to Admin Close, Motion to Terminate, Motion to put case on Status Docket. These tasks require precision, solid legal research and writing skills, ability to understand/interpret/apply immigration manual and court procedures. Ensure that all motions are timely filed, docketed, and tracked.
  • Prepare and draft briefs required to provide relief to victims of domestic violence and other crimes, such as VAWA, U Visa, and I-751-Removal of Conditions on the basis of Cruelty Waiver from Joint Filing. Assist in legal research, fact finding, drafting, and case compiling. This task requires incumbent to ensure that appropriate arguments, supported with case law, is presented to USCIS to request the grant of discretionary relief.
  • Prepare and draft I-290B Motion to Reopen, Reconsider, or Appeal before Administrative Appeals Office. Assist in drafting BIA or Federal Circuit Court Appeals, as and when requested by Terkiana, PC Attorneys.

Job Requirements:

Job entails working with and requires Master’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or equivalent with 1 year of experience in H-1B, H-4, L-1A, L-1B, TN Visa, I-140, N-400, I-290B.

Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience. This should be read to mean that the employer requires Master’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or equivalent with 1 year of experience in the job offered, Legal Researcher, Legal Research Analyst, or Equivalent.
